This is my puppy, Lilla. She turned one yesterday. Don't let this angelic picture fool you, she is full of energy, curiosity, and mischief and she never stops moving. Love having her around, she keeps me on my toes - 'especially' when she's trying to attack the footies I like to wear around the house or chew on my shoes. Yes, while I am wearing them.
I made a mistake today. I knew better, but I walked right into it. I responded to a political Facebook post. I've been carefully avoiding them, but for some reason I felt compelled to look up what was happening in a picture and 'reply'. I shared what I had found and was met with an angry response by a stranger accusing me pointedly of 'not caring.' I hadn't stated an opinion - heck, I didn't even know what any of it meant, but wanted to look this one up because it was so clearly trying to steer the reader to think a certain way about what was happening. I don't think I did anything wrong but it still bothered me - a lot. I'm sad that everyone is so freaked out. I don't believe most people are inherently mean and don't want to live in a state of fear, but that's where we ALL seem to be right now to some degree or another. So, I'm just going to wait out the next few months (or years?), ignore Facebook political posts, drink wine and stock up on chocolate. I'm all about being happy right now, and that should pretty much do it. Feel free to follow my lead, I think it might work out just fine.
A day for pie, what a great thing. My Mom always made our favorite for special occasions - Blueberry Banana Cream. Here is the recipe and my winning ribbon from a neighborhood dessert contest I entered a few years ago. Firefighters voted, so I feel like it was a legit accomplishment. My no-suger-eating new me is going to be in trouble tomorrow, I already know it.
I've recently discovered 'for sale' sites on Facebook. Oh, dear... a way to buy things I don't really need without leaving the house to shop. But, I've justified this particular purchase based on @garyvee advising that anyone can have their side hustle going by buying things at garage sales and reselling at a profit. So.... here's the latest most-beautiful-thing-ever that I bought. This huge ornate wood carved gold frame (not the painting) was only $50. I'm pretty sure I can double that price - at least... if I can part with it, that is. I have to admit, I feel like I need to start dressing up just to be in the same room with this thing. Wish me luck. January 2, 2017 - just returning from Christmas break and sitting at work-lunch with my two best friends there - let's call them Jane and Josie. Talking about the same things we always do, and Jane blurts out, "Hey, you should start a blog." That's sounds fun, I thought - and now having passed our seven day theory - if you don't start something in seven days you'll never do it. Twenty days later it kept popping to mind, so I'm giving it a try. Spent my $100 plus for site help, domain, security, etc. - we're off to the races so to speak. Now what will I write about?
